What is a background check?

A background check is a process used by employers to verify information about a candidate, including employment history, education, criminal records, and more. It ensures that employers make informed hiring decisions.

Why am I being screened?

Employers conduct background checks to ensure workplace safety, compliance with regulations, and the integrity of their hiring processes.

How long does a background check take?

Most background checks are completed within 24 to 48 hours. However, some searches may take longer depending on the type of verification required.

Will I be notified of my results?

Your employer will receive the results of your background check and may choose to share them with you. If there are any concerns, you will be notified and given an opportunity to dispute inaccuracies.  If you are a resident or applicant of California, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, or Washington, you have the right to request a free copy of your consumer report.

How can I dispute incorrect information?

If you believe there is an error in your background check report, please contact us immediately. We’ll work with you to investigate and resolve the issue.

What are my rights as a candidate?

You have the right to know what is in your background report.

You have the right to dispute inaccurate or incomplete information.

Employers must obtain your written consent before running a background check.
